Near the end of the year 2-0-1-9,
we thought that everything was so fine
But we didn’t know the troubles we’d soon face.
Coronavirus came around.
No quick solution could be found
Health workers treated patients case-by-case
接近2019年的年底，
我们沉浸在美好里，
丝毫不知厄运将至；
冠状病毒悄然来袭，
所有人都束手无策；
医护人员身先士卒，
义无反顾靠上救治。
And Hubei Province was shut down,
every city and every town
People sacrificed to stop the illness’ flow
The novel virus still did spread,
and left so many people dead
Until its growth in China did finally slow
整个湖北省封门闭户，
无论是城镇还是农村；
人们为阻止疾病传播而隔离自己；
这种新冠病毒仍在传播，
许多鲜活的生命因此殒殁
直到它屈服于中国人民的奋战。
But soon the virus did appear
In many countries far and near
W.H.O. praised China’s fight through and through
But some countries didn’t know what they should do.
但狡猾的病毒已在多国发生感染，
无论是远在天涯还是咫尺之遥；
世卫组织称赞了中国的抗疫做法，
但有些国家依然不知该如何去做。
Fear and hatred spread so fast.
We all hope it doesn’t last.
Panicking will do no good,
but common effort surely would.
Coronavirus, we will defeat,
around the world it must be beat
So here and there in every land,
together we will take a stand.
恐惧和怨恨蔓延得如此之快,
我们都希望这不会持续下去。
惊慌失措没有什么作用，
但共同的努力一定可以。
冠状病毒，我们一定要战胜它，
而且要在全世界范围消灭它
所以无论在哪一个地方，
我们都要站在一起。
Fear and hatred spread so fast.

马克·力文（Mark Levine），美国乡村音乐人、社会学博士、作家，中央民族大学特聘教授。2013年获得北京市政府“长城友谊奖”；2014年获得中国政府友谊奖；2018年受聘为“环球英才交流大使”。他在张家界国际乡村音乐节上获得“特别奖”，被各大媒体誉为“中国当代乡村音乐之父”。
他用美国乡村音乐讲述中国故事，迄今已创作出70余首关于中国的歌曲，为中西文化交流、传播中国声音做出卓越贡献，北京市政府授予其度北京市外国专家“长城友谊奖”，被《环球时报》称为“民谣英雄”。
